Riba Composites Srl: Riba Composites S.r.l , which has been operating in the field of advanced composites materials for over 25 years. The company mission is to design and manufacture parts in composite materials, both structural and aesthetic, for the automotive, aerospace, marine and industrial sectors . Most processed raw materials in RIBA’s production are pre-pregs sheets with carbon, glass or aramid fibres and thermosetting resins ( epoxy, vinylester … ). Technologies that characterize and distinguish RIBA’s expertise are: Hand lay-up with vacuum bag and autoclave curing ( Max Autoclave sizes: 2,5 m diameter; 17 m length ), Liquid moulding  processes on dry preforms in closed or open moulds (Resin Transfer Moulding, Vacuum Assisted RTM..), Compression Moulding with long fiber or short fiber materials ( BMC, SMC ), Bladder Moulding of hollow stuctures on female moulds. Fraunhofer Institute for Chemical Technology (ICT): The Fraunhofer Institute for Chemical Technology ICT, founded in 1959, is one of the largest and longest-established institutes of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, which currently has around 24,000 employees and a total turnover of 2.1 billion Euro. At Fraunhofer ICT’s site in Pfinztal over 540 employees carry out research and development work in the core competence areas of chemical and environmental engineering, polymer engineering, energy systems and explosives technology. University of Bologna – Alma Mater Studiorum (CIRI MAM): The University of Bologna is claimed to be the oldest academia in the world, being founded in 1088 A.D. It has a strong tradition in research and education in almost every field of the human knowledge. More than 100 Departments and Research Centres, 23 Faculties and around 100,000 students are the main features of the University of Bologna. Since 1992, a full set of resources and experiences in mechanical and aerospace research were also established and are now gathered together inside the School of Engineering – Forlì Campus, a town located 65km south-east of Bologna. Among the facilities, it must be cited two autoclaves for composite production, several testing machines and top level hardware for computational/FEM analyses in different research areas. Moreover, an Inter Departmental Centre for Industrial Research (CIRI MAM), has recently been established in the Forlì Campus. It gathers knowledge, competences and skills in mechanical engineering and aeronautics, structures, new composite materials and polymer processing of University of Bologna Departments in a single centre equipped with advanced infrastructures and research labs.

TÜV SÜD´s Dynatest 995-2 Tire Traction Tester consists of a truck-trailer combination designed to test tire wet braking capabilities and road surface friction properties. The towing vehicle includes a water supply for independent wetting of the road surface, consisting in a 1000l Aluminum water tank. Tire wet brake testing is done in accordance with European regulations as EU 228/2011 for the purpose of tire labelling (EC 1222/2009) and UNECE-R 117 for various types and sizes of passenger car tires. Test trailer wheel loads can be changed to meet specifications of different tire sizes.

Fraunhofer Institute for Structural Durability and System Reliability (LBF): Fraunhofer LBF in Darmstadt develops, assesses and implements customized solutions for mechanical engineering components and systems, especially for safety-related components and systems. This is carried out in the performance fields of Vibration Technology, Lightweight Construction, Reliability and Polymer Technology and includes solutions ranging from product design to verification – customized for you, for each individual client. In addition to the evaluation and optimized design of passive mechanical structures, the Institute designs active, mechatronic-adaptronic functional units and implements them as prototypes. In parallel it develops appropriate forward-looking numerical and experimental methods and testing techniques. Customers come mainly from automotive and commercial vehicle construction, shipbuilding, aviation, machine and plant construction, power engineering, construction, and the chemical industry. 400 employees and more than 11,560 square meters test area are available.
